Rumours says that NVIDIA is almost ready to release their latest GPU line. After the release of their Fermi cards, GeForce GTX 480, GTX 470, and GTX 465, now they are preparing to release Geforce GTX 460. This video card GPU reported to use GF104 chip.

As we know, GF104 is “lowered” version of GF100. Many reviews around state that GF100 is too much power consuming, and too hot as you can cook an egg on it. Although their latest GF100 card (GTX 465) with lowered SP, at peak only reach 87 degrees celcius.

And the rumour says, this is the specification of GTX 460 cards.

Clocks : 675/1350/1800
Memory Size : 768 MB – 1 GB

The GTX 460 768 MB will be priced around $230, and the 1GB version at $250. The GTX 460 768 MB looks set to outperform the HD 5830, with the 1GB version close to the HD 5850. With that price,we will see a battle in $200-$300 price range. There are GTx 465 already from NVIDIA, Radeon HD 5830 and HD 5850 from AMD. From that, I think GTX 465 will be kicked in no long time.

Looks like GTX460 will be the best product by NVIDIA after recent realeses, and its what they need know to compete with AMD’s Radeon.

GTX 460 Video Cards planned to be released on 14th July, or somewhere in mid-July.
